Myth
Claim: The IRS specifically targeted "conservative" organizations for review of their tax-exempt status while leaving liberal organizations alone.
Example
- "IRS got its budget cut because they were willingly used as tools to suppress the political liberty of conservative groups. They got what they deserved."[1]
Reality
This is completely false, and was a fake scandal created and maintained by the Republican Party with the assistance of the media.
