Myth: Children are allowed to receive gender-affirming surgery. |
Myth
The belief or assumption that a child who transitions will be receiving gender affirming surgery (SRS, GRS, etc.) is implied by a number of takes on news stories about children who are transitioning, e.g. this tweet which refers to a story where a Texas court granted a child's right to transition.
Reality
In most countries, the medical practice bars children from receiving SRS until they legally become adults.
