Belief challenges/Party Equivalence

There are two aspects to this challenge; you may respond to either or both:

• /bad Democrats: show how the Democrats are worse than the Republicans
• /good Republicans: show how the Republicans are better than the Democrats

If you can't clearly show either of these, then the weight of existing evidence remains clearly in favor of the Democrats – at least until there's another major shift in the philosophy of either, as happened to the Republicans during the Reagan era.

Explanation

It is often claimed that the Democratic Party and Republican Party are equally bad, and that there is therefore no point in voting when there is no other party with a chance of winning.

• "Both parties today pander to the same corporations and billionaires." ... "Both parties are now continuing corporate policies. They are both militarizing local law enforcement. We are having more and more murders, home invasions of innocents, brutality all under the guise of "protect and serve." We must act before we are bled dry.
