Dear Red America,

I find this kind of horrifying, and I'm wondering how you feel about it:

2024-11-25 As Trump touts plans for immigrant roundup, militias are standing back, but standing by

Apparently a number of private militia groups have decided that they are prepared to act toward deporting "illegals" because they believed a lot of nonsense they heard on the mass media.

They're prepared to go into towns and communities that don't want them, remove families who are there legally and doing valuable work that improves the economy and generally welcome, and force those families back into countries where their lives were in danger.

I'm just wondering if we agree that this is kind of scary and also deeply un-American -- or at least is something that we, as Americans, should abhor.
