2024-11-22 Nancy Mace's Federal Trans Bathroom Ban Would Apply To Major Airports, Hindering Travel

Here's another "are you really okay with this?" -- Team Red is pushing a bill which would make it illegal for trans people to use gender-matching bathrooms in federal facilities. Trans women would have to use the men's room, trans men would have to use the women's room.

I should note that trans men especially are often very masculine in appearance and strength -- so this would have "people who look like men" being *required* to use the women's room.

...and of course trans women are much more likely to face harassment in a men's room, but I don't suppose that concern butters any parsnips on the Right side of the political aisle.

Oh, and one more consequence: a lot of cis ("cis" = not trans) women will be accused of being men, most likely by vigilantes trying to "protect women", and pressured into "proving" their womanhood on the spot.

I just want to make sure that Red America understands this: if they are okay with this, they are basically saying they want trans people to go back to transland or wherever y'all imagine we came from (I'm holding my fingers back from typing anything stronger than that).

Maybe Trump will get to us next, after he's done deporting all the people who might possibly be illegal aliens because their names end in "ez", and then y'all can move on to being upset about people with Arabic-sounding names or who listen to the wrong music or whatever.

I apologize if this sounds angry -- but that's because I am, and I'm being honest and up front with you about it. I think it's important to be both of those things if we're ever going to understand each other. Is that a goal we share, or is it strictly one-way? Just wondering.
