Republicans, conservatrolls, and other authoritarians have a habit of using certain words or phrases as if they were deadly insults, even though they actually aren't insulting at all.

What seems to be going on is that the conservatroll leaders have, through usage and context, conveyed to their followers the idea that these words may be used as a label for anything that said leaders disapprove of. This demonstrates the follower's loyalty to the cabal as well as labelling their opponent as an "outsider", which means they are fair game for conservatroll derision.
